How is this different from Boomerang, Right Inbox, or Gmail reminders?
Those are plugins where you set a reminder on individual emails — and the follow-ups you forgot to set reminders for still slip. Simple Mail Client is a standalone email client that tracks every conversation automatically: if a thread is waiting on a reply, it's on the board, whether you remembered it or not.
Does it work with Gmail, Outlook, or my own domain's email?
Yes — anything that speaks IMAP, which is nearly every mail provider. You connect with your email address and password (Gmail requires an app password), and sending goes through your own SMTP.
Where does my email live?
On your mail server, exactly where it is now. Simple Mail Client syncs a copy over plain IMAP to track conversation state — no forwarding, no migration, no lock-in. Walk away any time and your inbox is untouched, because it never moved.
I get a lot of email — how does the important stuff stay visible?
You sort senders, not messages: decide once that a newsletter belongs in Feed or a client belongs in Main, and every current and future email from that sender follows the rule.
